Music Facilities
[photo] Shattuck Music Center

Most of Carroll’s musical events take place in Shattuck Music Center. Shattuck contains a 1,319-seat auditorium, a 150-seat recital hall, and teaching facilities that include state-of-the-art sound and video equipment and a fully digital keyboard Midi lab.

For students interested in instrumental music, the music program makes available to students a first-class collection of band and orchestra instruments. There are 32 pianos on campus, 21 of which are grands. A four-manual 69-rank Schantz pipe organ, designed by Professor Emerita Phyllis Stringham, is located in Shattuck’s auditorium.
